Narad 's Shraap/Curse To Shri Hari!

Now Narad did not know how to tackle his utter humiliation. On his way, he kept thinking that he will either give Shri Hari a shraap/curse, or end his life, for the public ridicule he had suffered at His expense.

Narad did not have to go far, Shri Hari met him half way, along with Lakshmi and that same princess. In a pleasant voice He inquired where Narad was going looking so tense.
This was the last straw, the deluded Narad could not take it any longer. With anger in his heart he accused Shri Hari that He could not see anybody's wealth and that He was wily and jealous. He reminded Shri Hari that during the Samudra Manthan/churning of the ocean He had made Shiva crazy, because he had incited the Devtas to have alcohol and serve him with poison. He then helped Himself to Lakshmiji and Kaustubh (precious stone) that came out after the churning of the ocean.

Narad was in a foul mood and was not about to stop, so then he called Him mean, cheap and a bully. Since there was nobody for Him to answer to, He was the Almighty after all, He did whatever he wanted, and turned bad into good and good into bad at his fancy. Narad kept on with his ranting and raving and added that Shri Hari had become brave after duping so many people, that he was eager to do more of the same . Now, though, things would not be the same because, He had met his match in Narad and finally, He would have to pay for his pranks.

While still, very upset Narad doled out his first curse. He cursed that the human form, that Shri Hari took to dupe Narad, He would have to take it again. He went on further and said that since He had turned Narad's form into a monkey's, He would have to take the help of monkeys some day. Finally since Narad's heart was broken, after being denied the princess, Shri Hari would also be desperate after losing his wife.

Shri Hari gladly took the shraap/curse with a happy heart. Then he told Narad how sorry he was, while he dispersed the illusion.

Suddenly Narad came back to his senses, to see there was no Lakshmi nor the princess. Realizing what he had just done Narad fell at the feet of the Lord and begged for mercy. He prayed that his shraap must fail for he had said some very unkind words to Him as he had sinned. The ever-forgiving Lord told him that it was not Narad's fault, all that happened because He (Shri Hari) had willed it to, in that way. He told Narad to go and chant Shiva's name, he would get instant peace. He should always remember that nobody was as dear to Him than Shiva. Only those people who had been blessed by Shiva, Shri Hari told Narad, got His (Shri Hari's) Bhakti. So keeping that in mind the Lord told Narad to go down to earth and make his rounds as he would never be deluded again.

After convincing Narad that all was well Shri Hari disappeared, while Narad embarked on his way to Satyalok /Bramhlok chanting the good name of Shri Ramchandra.

Words are very precious . Once they are spoken they cannot be taken back. So in our quest for Ram Rajya we must give thought to what we say then, we will never want to take back what was said. JAI HO!
