The importance of a Guru

As Tulsidas continues to invoke blessings that will help him to tell the story of Ram, he bows to the feet of his Guru who is the oceon of kindness and is really Shree Hari (Vishnu) in human form. His Guru's words will pull one out of darkness like the ray of sunlight.
Bundahoon Gurupad kunj Kripa sindhu narroop Hari
Mahamoh tum punj jaasu vachan ravi kar nikar
This is the couplet that means all those sentiments above. If you could remember these lines as we go along will be nice. I want to bring these to you as and when they come up and the ones that I relate to. Another one is:
Bundahoon Gurupad param paraga
Suruchi Subaas saras anuraaga
Tulsidas says here that he prays at the feet of his Guru and the dust of his feet is flavourful aromatic and filled with the juice of love!!

As you can see Tulsidas has given immense adoration to his Guru, even the ground and dust that he walks on. Truly the Guru plays a major role in the life of a Hindu!!
To have Ram Rajya we need to be true to our beliefs and to our Guru. Jai Ho!

  1. Who is Tulsidas's Guru? This might be a stupid question, but can't seem to remember who his Guru is.
