The Boon

After seeing and listening to the Lord, Manu was satiated. All his dreams were fulfilled. Even then, Manu had a burning desire. It was both simple as well as a difficult one to accomplish, that is why he hesitated. But he knew that for God, it was not a hard task at all, still Manu did not know if it was his place to ask. Just, like he said, when a poor person got a Kalp vraksh/wishing tree he still asked for little stuff, for he is afraid, similarly he (Manu) was in the same predicament. He asked God that He knew what was in his heart and He could fulfill that desire. God in his turn told Manu that he should ask directly, for there was nothing that He would not be able to give him.

Then, Manu said, "Oh Lord and Master of givers , I am going to tell my true feelings. I really want a son, just like you, there is nothing to hide from you." To that God answered, "Your wish is my command, where will I find someone exactly like me. So I will take birth as your son." Then God asked Satrupa what she wanted. She was a smart lady and she replied that she agreed with her husband, that is what she wanted too. Only, she wanted that she should have the same devotion, love, knowledge, lifestyle, and place in heaven that all of his true followers got. God loved her intelligence, and said that she will get whatever was in her heart, and none of that will ever be destroyed.

Manu however, was not done completely. He still had one more thing to ask. He wanted that he would love Him ( God , when He is born as his son) the same way, a father loves his son. Just like a fish cannot live without water, the father and Son would never apart.

Bhagwan agreed to that request as well. He asked him to move to King Indra's kingdom and live in the capital city of Amravati. There he should enjoy the pleasures of heaven. Then, after some time has elapsed, when he will be king of Ayodhya, then God will be born as his son.

God promised, that, He will take human form in his house, perform various leelas/acts, and make his devotees happy. Lots of them will achieve salvation because of it . Also, along with him, God said that his aadishakti and alter ego by illusion, who has created this earth will take avatar. In this way, God told Manu, He will fulfill his promise to him, that was his word, it will not go in vain and then He disappeared.

The King and Queen with the Lord in their heart lived in their ashram for a while, then without any disease they gave up their lives to live in Amravati.

Yagyavalkji tells Bharadwaj that Shiva had told this enchanting story to Parvati. Then he said there was a different reason why Ram had to take an Avatar.

Hard work always pays. Manu and Satrupa proved that. They knew from the beginning what they wanted. God had to come to fulfill their desires. So work hard, and know what you want, and then, we will have Ram Rajya! JAI HO!
