Ram Kathaa is priceless!

When, a lie is considered to be the truth, when one does not know any better, a rope is mistaken to be a snake, when a dream is real, till the time one wakes up, Shiva told Parvati he prayed to that same young Ramchandra who created that illusion.

Mangal Bhavan Amangal Haari

Dravahun So Dasharath Agir Behaari

Shivji asks that the supreme One who is the storehouse of joy and happiness, who drives away all evil and plays in Dashrath's courtyard, to be kind to him and bless him.

Shivji was very pleased with Parvati and told her that nobody was as benevolent as her.

Chahu Raghupati Kathaa Prasungaa

Sakal Lok Jag Paavani Ganga

" You have asked me to tell you that story of Ram that is considered to purify all the Lokas just as the holy river Ganga" Shiva said to Parvati. Shiva knew Parvati had great devotion for Ram and wanted the whole world to benefit from hearing his saga. He had figured out that her doubt now, and in her previous birth was just an excuses, so that the peoples' love for Ram would be kindled, and they would lead better lives.

Jinha Harikatha Suni Nahin Kaana

Shravan Rangha Ahibhawan Samaana

Shivji says that those people who have not heard the stories of Ram, the hole in their ear is like a hole in a snake pit. Also those who have not had darshan/seen saints, their eyes are like the fake eyes on a peacock feather.

He goes on to say that a human head, hands, heart are all worthless if they have not been used for the service of Ram.

Ramkatha Surdhenu Sam Sevat Sub Sukh Daani

Satsamaj Surlok Sab Ko Na Suneh Us Jaani

Ram kathaa is likened to the celestial cow Kaamdhenu. This was a magical cow that complied with every body's wishes. Similarly if one listens to the story, it will give all kinds of comfort and joy just like the Kaamdhenu. Also a society of good people is like the home of Devtas so, knowing all this, why won't people listen to the story of Ram? JAI HO!
