Sati's Lesson

Shiva makes a last ditch effort to stop Sati (another name of Parvati) from taking any kind of test to determine who this prince was. He tells her to be careful, and not be hasty. Sati, however, did not pay heed to any of this, took her leave respectfully, and started thinking how to test Ram. Meanwhile Shiva starts thinking that all this does not look good for Sati, daughter of King Daksh.
It appears that even the creator is against her and there is nothing much that he can do.

Shiva says that whatever God has planned and created that is going to happen, their is no point in thinking at length over it, nobody has any control . Instead he started chanting Sri Hari's name sitting under a tree while Sati went to where Ram was. She disguised herself as Sitaji (Ram's wife) and started walking on that path on which Ram the King of Humans was coming. Upon seeing her, Lakshman (brother of Ram) was dumbfounded. He did not see his place to say anything for he knew the glory of Ram.
One who knows everything, can see inside our hearts, whose name dispels ignorance and is the Swami of all the Devatas saw the intrigue in Sati's heart.
At this time TD points out, the sometimes incorrigible nature of a woman. Here, she is trying to fool the One who is Omniscient!!!
Ram keeping the scope of his 'Maya' (illusionary creation) in heart, smiled. With folded hands he greeted her, introducing himself as Ram the son of Dashrath." Where is Shiva, what are you doing in these woods alone?" he asked.
Sati had found her answer and felt so foolish on doubting her husband and not listening to him. She started running back to Shiva, knowing that he would be very angry and what is she going to tell him. Ram saw Sati's distress and anguish. So just to make her realise that he was the Sachidanand that Shiva was talking about he showed her his power. When Sati looked ahead she saw Ram with Sita on one side and Lakshman on the other. Then she looked behind and she saw the same image . She saw that Ram was clad in beautiful clothes and the Munis and sages were serving him . She also saw so many Shivas, Bramhas and Vishnus and their endless powers. She saw in whatever form Shiva, Bramha and Vishnu were, their better halves Sati Bramhani and Lakshmi were also dressed in that form. Sati saw that even though she saw so many Rams he was always with his Shakti Sita and his form was never altered, always the same. He was being served by every form of living organism on earth and they were all singing his praises.
All this overwhelmed Sati, seeing Ram, Lakshman and Sita everywhere, she just sat down right there on the path and closed her eyes. When she opened her eyes again, everything was normal, so she headed towards Shiva. On seeing her Shiva smiled.". How did the testing of Ram go ? Sit down and tell me everything truthfully."
Wonder what she said. Remember the woman's nature that TD talked about? One thing we know for sure. For Ram Rajya we have to be truthful all the way . JAI HO!
